Dorothy "Dottie" DeCoursey Wiest, died peacefully, July 28, 2025 at Southampton Estates, she was 103. She was the loving wife of the late George Warren Wiest. Born in Hartsville, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Laura (Rorer) DeCoursey. Dottie was raised in Ivyland and later raised her family in Huntingdon Valley. She was a loving and dedicated mother.
She was a graduate of Hatboro High School in 1940. She was a secretary for 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Dottie and her husband loved to travel, visiting many states across the country. Ocean City, NJ was her favorite annual vacation spot. Dottie possessed a boundless curiosity for the world around her finding joy in books, learning, and thoughtful conversation.
She had a deep affection for animals, especially cats who hold a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her niece Lynn Rothberg (Marc) and nephew Douglas DeCoursey, her great niece Maggie, great nephew Jake and her Wiest extended family members. She was pre-deceased by her son Jim Wiest.
Her family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to her devoted friend Cindy Ackerman, whose steady care, support, and companionship over the years brought comfort and kindness that will always be remembered.
Services will be held privately.
