Dorothy L. Bowen Wright, age 83, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on October 7, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 16, 1941, daughter of the late Edgar H Bowen and the late Frances Crawley Bowen. She attended First Baptist Church of Douglasville and Douglasville Baptist Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Hiram M Wright Jr.; children: Keith G Wright, and Sondra G Weatherford and her husband: Keith; grandchildren: Haley M Garmon and her husband Chris, Ansley L Hines and her husband Jake; great-grandchildren: Krisley Garmon, Hank Garmon, Bowen Hines, Gunner Hines, Dottie Hines, and Dean Hines, sisters: Frances Pearson and her husband Allen, Kathy Umbro, Joyce Dempsey and her husband Jackie, Pam Roberson; brother: Charles L Bowen and his wife Yolanda.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Glenease Stephens and Penny Phillips.
The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Friday October 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny West and Dr. John Pennington officiating.
Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m.
