Dorrie Rogers Obituary

Dorrie Mullen Rogers, 62, passed away peacefully at Allied Services Scranton Hospice Center on Sunday with her husband at her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Thomas W. Rogers for 42 years.
Dorrie was born on January 17, 1959 and was raised in Olyphant. Her parents were the late Joseph and Olga Alchesin Mullen.
After graduating from Bishop O'Hara High School, she attended Keystone College and was formerly employed by Harper Collins, Dunmore. She also worked at the voting polls in her community for many years. Dorrie was a great and loyal friend who never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was fondly known as "the cruise director" to her close friends and enjoyed dinners with them and traveling with her husband. She loved shopping at Kohl's with her 30% coupons and especially loved spending time with her great nieces and great nephews.
She is also survived by one sister, Maryann Mullen Munro, husband, Rick, of Bonita Springs, Florida; one niece, Jennifer Munro Erna, Boston, Massachusetts; one nephew, Ryan Munro of Manhattan, New York; two great nieces and two great nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sean McCall, the nurses and staff at Geisinger-CMC, NROC, Hematology and Oncology Associates, Traditional Home Health and Allied Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10AM at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant by Fr. Scott P. Sterowski, pastor of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Blakely.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home.
