Dorthy Robison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller and Miller Funeral Home - Hugo on Jan. 14, 2026.
Dorthy Jean (Parker) Robison, 90, was born on May 27, 1935, the daughter of William F. Parker and Bessie B. (Cooper) Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lewis Ernest Robison; daughter, Evia Jean (Stanfield) Lester; grandchildren, Melissa Marie Guthrie and Pete Lester; brothers, Grant Parker, Sanford Parker, Robert Parker, Pete Parker and Charles Parker; sisters, May Parker, Nora Whitaker and Nellie Wheeler.

Dorthy grew up in the Goodland area and worked for several years at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Hugo. She and her beloved husband moved to Lubbock, Texas where she worked for Grinnell Fire Protection Company for over 20 years. She enjoyed volunteering her time working at food banks. Dorthy enjoyed fishing and gardening in her younger days. She loved sewing, cooking, baking and canning the vegetables from her garden. Dorthy and Lewis moved back to Hugo in 1990. After the passing of her husband and daughter she took her great granddaughter Destiny into her home, raising her as a daughter. Dorthy enjoyed going to the beauty shop and getting her hair done. She loved the Lord above all things and going to church was the most important thing in her life when she was physically able. Dorthy's passing has left a void in the lives of those that knew her and loved her.

Dorthy is survived by her grandchildren, Ida Lester, Tyzhell Jordan and Joe Lester; great grandchildren, Reese Daffern, Destiny Duty and Joslynn and Jaqueline Brunson along with numerous friends, family and loved ones.
