Together Doug and Lisa raised six children: Matthew Ruley, Piqua, OH; Jennifer Ruley(Mike), Piqua, OH; Christopher (Jessica) Mitchell, Piqua, OH; Chelsi (Josh) Schulz. Piqua, OH; Chad (Katie) Brown, Piqua, OH; and Noah Ruley, Piqua, OH; one twin brother and sister-in-law: David (June) Ruley, Piqua, OH; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Renee (Michael) Bowling, Piqua, OH; Linda (Larry) Francis, Piqua, OH; Thirteen grandchildren: Bayli, Krystal, Patience, Isaac, Elijah, Emilee, Adaleigh, Joshua, Jackson, Owen, Andrew, Kylie, and Abigail. He was preceded in death by one brother: Thomas M. Ruley and one nephew: Chad Michael.
Doug graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1972. He was a member of Greene St. United Methodist Church in Piqua. Doug worked for Crane Pumps & Systems in Piqua for over 20 years. He liked going fishing, golfing, watching Nascar and watching his favorite football team the New Orleans Saints. Doug loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday December 7, 2022 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH with Sarah Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association 4050 Executive Park Drive #402 Cincinnati, OH 45241 or Ohio's Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave Dayton, OH. 45420.
