It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Asa Adams, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Douglas, son of Charley and Minnie Nance Adams passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023 at the age of 83. He died as he lived surrounded by the people, he loved the most.

Douglas was born on January 18, 1940 in Layton, Utah and graduated from Davis High School in the class of 1958. Douglas spent his life serving the community first as a Ogden City Police Office and then moving on to become a Federal Agent until retirement.

Having lived well, laughed often (especially at the jokes he shared with family and friends),and loved much. Douglas led a life marked by all of the right measures of success, honesty, integrity and love.

Doug always put his family first and was a constant source of support and guidance. As a father he encouraged his children to challenge themselves to learn everything they could and offer more.

As a colleague, Doug was a leader; as a friend, he was always ready to lend an ear, a hand or a kind word. He led by example and held himself to the highest standards, earning the respect and admiration of this fortunate enough to know him. Simply put Doug was an amazing man there wasn’t a room or situation he stepped into that wasn’t better for it.

Douglas was an honorable, courageous selfless man that always tried to help those in need or less fortunate ( sometimes to his own demise).

We would like to thank the CNA’s at Fairfield Village who more like family to him. Also the beautiful Hospice team Peggy, Shalee and Kelli who stood by our sides no matter the time of day.

Douglas was proceeded in death by his parents Charley and Minnie Nance Adams three sisters and two sons.

He leaves behind one brother Charles Adams and a devoted daughter and son in-law Shawna and Thomas Woods. His loving daughter Shelly Adams. Jody Azbell. seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren
