Douglas Dean Bodmer peacefully went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on

August 9th, 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease at United Hospice of Aspire in Marlette, Michigan.

Doug was born on November 20th, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Stanley and Eva Bodmer. He was raised and dearly loved by his aunt and uncle, Exie and Russell Bodmer of North Branch, Michigan. Shortly after high school, Doug met Margaret (Margie) Uribe of North Branch and they were married on July 29th, 1972. They cared for one another for 53 years and had one daughter, Laura. Doug loved being her Dad and taught her how to "just take one day at a time."

Doug was employed at Chrysler for over 37 years in the Parts Division. During his time working there, he connected with many people and was able to share his kindness, humor, and faith with all who knew him. He was known for his impeccable attendance record and work ethic. When not at work, you could find him outdoors either tending a vegetable garden, working on a favorite old truck, mowing his lawn, or building something in his workshop.

Doug experienced happiness in the simple things of life but found his greatest contentment in placing his trust in his Savior's sacrificial love at the cross. As his body and mind failed due to illness, his heart stayed strong and secure knowing he would one day be in heaven because of the shed blood of Christ and nothing else.

Doug is survived by his wife, Margie Bodmer; daughter, Laura (Robert) Snedeker; two grandchildren, Adam and Lily; sisters Ramona Noxel and Betty Salter; brother, Phillip Bodmer; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Exie and Uncle Russ, sister Marilyn Sexton, brothers Robert Lee Bodmer and Stanley Bodmer.

An immediate burial with a private memorial will take place at Westlawn Cemetery in North Branch, Michigan. Memorial may be made in his honor to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org
