Douglas Vernon Collins, 74, of Shelbiana, Kentucky passed away on December 1, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1951.
He was father of Douglas Collins Jr., King David Collins, Douglas (Jessica) Davis, Jeremy (Nicole) Davis, Patrick (Tori) Davis. His daughters, Mercy Collins, Julie (Eric) Blair. Douglas also leaves behind his brothers, Don (Bonnie) Collins, Curtis Collins, and Rex Collins, as well as his sisters, Mary Mullins and Nancy (Tom) Thacker. Douglas was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Collins, his father, King David Collins, his mother, Mercy Nancy Collins, five brothers, and one great granddaughter.
Visitation services are scheduled to take place at Lucas & Son Funeral Home, located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY 41501. The visitation will begin on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM, and continue the following day, Friday, December 5, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with burial in the Johnson Memorial Park Cemetery.
