Publish in a newspaper

Douglas Clayton Coppedge, 73, of Spring Hope, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord
on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born on March 20, 1952, in Nash County, he was a lifelong
resident of Spring Hope and a man deeply rooted in faith, family, and tradition.
Doug was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. He shared
50 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lynnette Coppedge. Together they built a
strong and loving family, raising three daughters: Christie Bryant (Chris) of Rocky Mount, NC,
Jennifer Lamm (Ricky) of North Charleston, SC, and Anna Coppedge of Wilmington, NC. His
love and pride for "his girls" was evident in all he did.
He was the proud grandfather of Ricky and Kenzie Lamm, Hadlee and Zoey Bryant, who
brought him immense joy and filled his heart with laughter and love. Doug also leaves behind
his brothers, Dan and Gerald Coppedge; his sisters, Becky Denton (Jack) and Hilda Coppedge;
and many loving nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Otha Coppedge and Lela Rackley Coppedge.
He had a deep love for the simple joys of life: his family, his church, horses, and going to the
mountains. A faithful member of Ephesus Baptist Church, Doug found strength in his faith and
deep connection with his church family. He enjoyed relaxing with Western movies, cheering on
his favorite teams during football and basketball seasons, and watching wrestling.
Known for his kind heart, steady presence, and strong values, Doug touched many lives with his
quiet strength and unwavering love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ephesus Baptist Church on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:30 PM officiated by Rev. Bill Brantley. A burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Spring Hope NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Doug's memory to:

His legacy of love, devotion, and faith will live on in all who knew and loved him.
