Matthew Lee Cheeseman

Matthew Lee Cheeseman, 37, born December 30, 1987, in Carteret County, North Carolina, passed away on September 29, 2025. Matthew was a man of passion and deep devotion. He found joy in spending time with his beloved cat, Munster, tending to his chickens, and collecting a remarkable collection of old war memorabilia. Above all, he cherished his family, whose love and support meant everything to him. Matthew proudly served as a Major for 19 years in the United States Army National Guard with honor and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy to his country and community. He is survived by his parents, Michael Cheeseman (Star) and Angela Kirk; his brother, Caleb Cash; and his three sisters, Kellie Glover (Charlie), Marilyn Cheeseman, and Alyssa Cheeseman. Matthew also leaves behind two stepbrothers, Michael Cheeseman (Jackie) and Bradley Cheeseman, and two stepsisters, Brittany Vaughn (Clint) and Jamie Kroll (Andrew). His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service.
