Douglas Wayne Couch, 50, was born on June 25, 1974 to Raymond and Karen (Amen) Couch at Logan County Hospital in Sterling, Colorado. He joined his Lord and Savior on November 28, 2024 at 12:20 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in the presence of his family.
Doug was always happy and always had a smile. He had enough love for everyone. He was always looking out for others, thinking of them before himself. He was a selfless man and had a natural instinct for "cow sense."
Doug graduated from Akron High School in 1992, and worked as a Ranch Manager for the Colorado State University Eastern Colorado Research Center until his death. He touched many, many lives while working at the research center, and his knowledge and cow sense were useful to many people.
He loved his Lord and his family, and especially his grandkids. He couldn't wait to get out the door when he heard their voices. He was Papa Doug.
One of his favorite sayings was, "Who's got it better than we've got it? Nobody!" He would never let us complain or be discontent. He always had a good attitude.
When he was at City of Hope, he would always ask others how they were doing. He fought hard every day, and never wanted to give up.
Doug is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jennifer (Allen); his children, Austin and wife, Alicia; Torey and husband, Cande Medeles; Wesley and Terran; as well as his six grandchildren, Timmy, Macy, Abby, and Alice Couch and Harley and Mateo Medeles; his parents, Raymond and Karen Couch; his sisters, Wendy Ash and husband, Kevin and their children, and Jayme and son, Luca; and his in-laws, David and Peggy Allen and Cathy Harris and family.
A memorial service for Doug will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Snyder Bible Church in Snyder, Colorado. Memorial contributions can be made to the City of Hope Cancer Centers.
