Douglas Jackson Downey age 64 of Adamsville passed away on August 4th 2024.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and "granddaddy". He was a lover of cars, racing, and anything related to speed. He was an avid fisherman, pool player, and teller of jokes. He loved to tell his "dad" jokes to anyone that would listen, and had an infectious laugh when he thought something was funny.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Gail Downey, brother-in-laws, Bobby Carrell and Richard Thrasher, and nephew, Chet Downey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Tracy Downey, son Stephen Downey (Hannah), daughter Jessica Downey; grandchildren, Mealyn, Amelia, Isaiah, Brodie, Ellie, Oliver, Henry, and Eleanor; sister Joanna Downey Carrell, brother Mike Downey, brother Ken Downey (Kellie); sister-in-law Tammy Quick (Ricky), brother-in-law Scott Thrasher; and Aunt Jeanene Cox Salze.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12th 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home, Adamsville, AL.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12th at 1:00pm at the Crestview Memorial Funeral Home, Adamsville, AL.
