Douglas A. Driver, 60 of Taylorville, IL, passed away on October 31, 2023, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 21, 1963, to Raymond “Bud” Driver and Beverly Davis. He worked as a roll wrapper at Design Corrugated for many years.
Douglas loved sailing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He loved being around children and his beloved dog, Darby, who passed earlier this year. He had a true heart of gold. Douglas will forever be remembered for his gentle demeanor, and for being a very loving and caring person. He is missed dearly.
He is survived by his significant other: Mary Caraker; daughter: Jennifer Caraker; mother: Beverly Davis; siblings: Ron Driver; Lisa Driver; John Katz (Debbie Bardingmoore); and Bruce (Janie) Emerson; sister-in-law: Nancy (Mick) Oller; and his niece: Addison Sylvester, all of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Driver, his four grandparents, and beloved dog, Darby.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. A funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. and interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials in his honor may be made to Christian County Animal Control.
