Mr. Douglas “Doug” Patrick DuRussel was born on May 17, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan, and passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Flint, Michigan; he was 63.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Arant-DuRussel; father, Dale DuRussel; stepchildren, Robert Ostin, and Terri (John) Parkinson; grandchildren: Jon (fiancée, Victoria) Bolton, Kourtnie Bolton, Peyton Ostin, Jacob Parkinson, and Alexandra Ostin; great-granddaughter, Paisley Bolton; siblings, Dale J. (Pamela) DuRussel, Rebecca DuRussel, and Dan DuRussel; nephews, Jacob (Sabrina) DuRussel, and Vincent DuRussel; niece, Victoria DuRussel; as well as extended family, friends, and beloved dogs, Betsy & Josie; and cat, WeeBit
Doug served as county commissioner for Tuscola County and as a board member with Michigan Sports Unlimited. He was an avid reader and had a large collection of books. Further, he owned and operated his own home healthcare business. He especially loved the time spent with his family and his pets.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Travis Mills Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation for Doug will be at Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Monday, January 27, 2025. Doug's funeral liturgy will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.; additional visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and last until the time of service.
