Angeline Rose DuRussel, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Brookdale Muirfield Assisted Living Facility in Dublin, Ohio. Born on June 11, 1927, in
Reese, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Diener) Oeder and a proud graduate of Reese High School, class of 1945.
Ange, as she was affectionately known, married the love of her life, Roy "Timer" DuRussel, on April 10, 1948, at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Munger. Their enduring partnership was blessed with five children and a lifetime of love until Roy's passing in 2012.
A wonderful homemaker, Ange also contributed her skills to the workforce. She was employed at Michigan National Bank as a bookkeeper and teller, and later at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in the accounting department. Her professional life, though fulfilling, was always balanced with her dedication to her family and home. She was a long-time member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese, where she held several offices and volunteered.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Roy, who was not only her love but also her best friend and favorite golfing partner. She relished the roles of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always at the heart of family gatherings, celebrations, and everyday moments. Her love of gardening, golf, travel, and family were reflections of her zest for life.
Ange's legacy lives on through her beloved children and their spouses: Jeanette and Wayne Johnson, Joyce and David Feigleson, MaryBeth and Kim Amann, Dianne and Paul Schmeling, and her daughter-in-law, Anna DuRussel; her 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Dolores Woizeschke, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply. Ange was predeceased by her son, Larry Joseph "Joe" DuRussel, and her siblings and their spouses, Rosalie and Leo Hogan, Lois and Earl Schluckbier, Sharon and Daryl Allen, Jack Oeder, and brother-in-law Roy E. Woizeschke.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 am, Monday, October 20, 2025, from St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Dillabough, her nephew, will officiate, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Ange's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese, on Sunday from 4-8 pm, and at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of the liturgy. The praying of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Elizabeth Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul, Bay City.
