Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great- Great Grandmother, LORAINE (KABAT) SMITH of Tuscola, formerly of Reese passed away January 23, 2026, age 101. Loraine was born on September 30, 1924, in Reese, Michigan to the late Harry and Ruth (Liebknecht) Kabat. She attended Reese High School and graduated with the Class of 1941. Loraine also attended Saginaw School of Cosmetology. She married Ray Kenton Smith on October 17, 1943, at Reese Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1989.

Loraine is survived by her two sons and daughter Dale (Carol) Smith of Tuscola, David R. (James W. Schmitt) Smith of Bay City, Dawn (Brian) Lanfear of Vassar, and daughter-in-law Jill Smith of Holiday, FL. She also leaves ten Grandchildren: James, Michael and Jeffrey Smith; Robert and Stephen Smith; Donald D. and Darcey Allen; Erin and Nikole Lanfear; and Carrie Smith. Also, several Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, her special niece, Carole Pollen and several other nieces and nephews. Loraine was predeceased by her parents, her husband and daughter Donna L. and her husband Donald (Red) Allen, and son Richard K. Smith.

Funeral and Committal Services will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese with Pastor Jay Roussel officiating. Loraine will be buried next to her husband Ray in the Newton-Campau Cemetery in Millington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday February 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the time of the services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the donor's favorite charity.
