Douglas Fields Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel on Feb. 23, 2026.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Douglas Roy Fields, fondly known as Doug to his loved ones. Born on May 24, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Doug was a spirited soul who lived life to its fullest. He was resilient, always rising above challenges with an infectious smile. He possessed a unique knack of turning mundane moments into memorable ones with his funny anecdotes and witty remarks. As the saying goes, "Laughter is the closest distance between two people," this was particularly true for Doug. His laughter not only brought people closer but also made every moment with him unforgettable.

Doug relocated to Kent, Washington, 15 years ago and quickly fell in love with the charm of the Pacific Northwest. He loved the state of Washington and moved there when he was young and stayed. He was a loving father to his daughter, Janeen. Doug, who was retired, enjoyed watching movies and television series in his free time. His love for horror and alien films was legendary amongst his friends and family, turning even the most ordinary weekends into exciting movie marathons.

Douglas is survived by his daughter Janeen (Jim)Vickey, his father Elvin Fields, and his mother Barbara Antonow, his sisters Mary Fields, Darlene Fields, and Cathy Stack. As we mourn the passing of this extraordinary man, we also celebrate a life lived with vigor, resilience, love, and lots of laughter. Doug's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

We invite you to visit Douglas's memorial page, where you can share your memories, stories, and photographs. Every shared memory, no matter how small, helps us remember not just that Douglas was here, but how he lived, laughed, and loved. It offers us comfort and reminds us that his spirit will always be amongst us.
