Douglas W. Hareid

1960 - 2025

EDGERTON, WI - Douglas W. Hareid, 64, of Edgerton, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side. He was born on December 30, 1960, in Edgerton, the son of Robert and Lois Hareid. Doug married Roxanne Steindl on May 2, 1997, after spending 10 previous years together. Doug graduated from High School in 1979 and was an active member of the FFA. He studied auto mechanics at Blackhawk Technical College. His skills including, cars, weed eaters, lawn mowers, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, etc... He was employed for 37 years as a forklift mechanic at WI Forklift/Wolter Division. He had a great sense of humor and was well known for his "one liners." Doug had a generous heart, and many times found it difficult to say, "No" to anyone who needed a hand. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, drag racing, wheelies on his Honda dirt bike and his Honda Rubicon 4-wheeler. He was very close to his brother, Darrell, who lived across the street with his family of three daughters who were always curious about Doug's work and often got rides (if they were good).

Doug was a loving and caring husband to Roxanne. He is survived by his brother; Darrell (Robin), uncles: Marvin an Roger; brother-in-law: Kenny (Dawn); sister-in-law: Marcia; nieces: Molly (Ben), Stacey (Teddy), Meghan (Vasil), Heather (Matt), Leighanne (Matthew), Ashly (Nick) Makensy, and nephew, Marc (Madeline); along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends and his fur baby, Sparky.

He is preceded in death by his parents; uncles: Lynn and Warren, and an aunt: Doris; along with his fur baby, Buddy.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Albrecht Funeral Homes, Edgerton. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 1848 Lounge from noon to 4 PM. www.albrechtfuneralhomes.com
