Douglas Houck, Jr. Obituary
Of Murrysville, age 37, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Beloved son of Mary Beth (Dumm) Kellogg of FL, and Douglas (Betty Joyce) Houck, Sr. of OH.
Brother of Vaughn (Erin) Houck.
Cherished nephew of Joyce (Art) Cannon, Joann Lyons and Kathy (Jack) Onufer.
Cousin of Camille Wilson, Jaime (Chris) Zaremba, Russell Ariola, Liam Stigerwald, Gerard Cannon, Elizabeth Cannon, and Diana Cannon
Survived by many other family and friends.
Doug graduated from Franklin Regional High School, class of '05. He later furthered his education by studying at Purdue University in Indiana. He worked in various capacities, including landscaping and at a gym, where he not only took pride in his own fitness but also encouraged others to achieve their health goals. His culinary skills shone brightly in his most recent role as a cook at a Poke restaurant. Doug enjoyed going to Seven Springs, doing some downhill skiing. He enjoyed podcasts and keeping up with current world events. Those who knew him will recall his humorous and sarcastic nature, which never failed to lift the spirits of those around him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday 4 p.m. at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800.
