Douglas Nash, 65, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Portland, Maine, after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia with family by his side.

Born on November 9, 1959, in Hartford, Connecticut, Doug was the son of the late Corinne and Warren Nash. He was a proud graduate of Madawaska High School, Class of 1978, and went on to serve his country with honor as a U.S. Army veteran.

Doug dedicated over 40 years of his life to Ryder Transportation in Lewiston as a skilled and respected diesel mechanic. Known for his unmatched work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand, Doug was someone his coworkers, friends, and neighbors could always count on.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling, ATVing, and attending local car shows. Doug was a passionate hockey fan and rarely missed a game. He especially cherished traveling to Aroostook County and across the Canadian border to reconnect with family and lifelong friends.

Doug's warmth and kindness touched many, but his deepest love was for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Nash; his son, Brian Nash; his sisters, Jane Pray (husband Dale) and Jannine Hemond (husband Albert); nieces and nephews Nick Pray, Derek Pray, Rita Hemond, Jennifer Hemond, and Noah Martel; and his best friend, Dani Levesque.

Doug's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Egan and the Portland Oncology Team, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and The Fisher House of Boston for their exceptional care and compassion during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Doug's memory to The Fisher House of Boston, an organization close to his heart. Donations can be made at https://fisherhouseboston.org/donate/

Doug will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for life, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday August 22, 2025 from 4-6pm followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 6pm, also at the funeral home. Condolences and fond memories may be shared with the family on Doug's tribute page here at www.albert-burpee.com Arrangements are under the care of Albert & Burpee Funeral Home & Cremation Services 253 Pine St. Lewiston, 782-7201.
