Douglas Murray "Doug" Richardson

Richardson – Douglas "Doug" Murray Richardson, age 51, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away on January 11, 2023, at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 24, 1971, to Murray Richardson and the late Laverne Rhoden Richardson. Doug was a longtime resident of Baker County. He graduated from Baker County High School in 1989 and then started his first entry-level position at Publix painting warehouse roofs. While working at Publix Warehouse, he found his passion in transportation and was given the opportunity to transfer to Lawrenceville, GA as a Truck Driver. In January of 1995, Doug met his best friend and forever love, Amy Lynn Bennett. Sixth months later in June of 1995, Doug and Amy were happily married and made the move together to Georgia. They resided in Georgia for seven years until returning home to Baker County, FL. Doug also enjoyed his time at Auto Carriers Express in Jacksonville, FL until he opened AKA Hauling. He owned and operated AKA Hauling, hauling cars for over 10 years and most recently has been a Lime Rock Hauler. Doug was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, and son who loved his family dearly. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan who loved hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling, attending Glen Baptist Church where he was a longtime member, vacationing, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was greatly loved by all who knew him and he will be forever missed. Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Laverne Richardson.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Amy Richardson of Glen St. Mary, FL; father, Murray Richardson of Glen St. Mary, FL; children, Ally (Grant) Blair of Sanderson, FL and Kade Richardson of Glen St. Mary, FL; sister, Jennifer Richardson of Orange Park, FL; his grandpups, Rosie and Luna; along with many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Chas Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday an hour prior to the service at the church.
