On December 7, 2025, Douglas Stewart Smith Sr. of Roanoke, TX, was called home to Heaven to live eternally with his Lord and Savior.

Doug was born in Channelview, TX on March 10, 1962 to Willard and Peggy Smith. He spent his childhood in Longview, attending Pine Tree schools until 1980. In 1983, Doug joined the Air Force and moved to Glendale, AZ where he was stationed at Luke Air Force Base. It was during his time there that he met his wife Greta. They were married in Arizona on December 31, 1987. Doug always loved to cook and had a passion for good food, cooking good food and eating good food. In 2001, Doug decided to turn his passion into a career and established Executive Catering of Texas. He happily prepared and served delicious food to the DFW area for 25 years.

Doug would say his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren knew no bounds. His most cherished roles in life were husband, Dad, and as he liked to say, "one lucky Pop-Pop". He is survived by his loving wife, Greta Smith and their three children: Jen Estes and husband David of Longview and their two children, Mila and Morgan; Douglas S. Smith Jr. and his wife Heather and their son, Landon; Rachel Simmons and her husband Bryson and their daughter, Oakley; his sister Kathy Meadows and her husband Stacey; his brother Sean Smith and his wife Melissa as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Peggy Smith and sister Lisa Smith of Longview.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 18 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S. Main St., Keller, TX. A celebration of his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Spring Creek BBQ, 660 S. Main St., Keller, TX, where guests are invited to order and purchase their own meals.
