Douglas A. Snyder, 73, of Canton, passed away January 14, 2026. He was born in Canton, Ohio on November 25, 1952 to the late Merle D. and Chrystal L. Snyder.

Doug was a 1970 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School. After graduation, Doug attended Bowling Green State University, where he obtained his degree in music. Doug retired from Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities where he worked as a teacher for 45 years. Doug had a passion for music, including the piano, guitar and flute. He was able to share this passion with the many students he taught. He enjoyed long distance bicycling, yoga and swimming. Doug also enjoyed spending time camping and hiking with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Tepas; and his brother, David Snyder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Anne Snyder; son, Jacob; daughter, Anne; granddaughter, Ivy; his sister and brother-in-laws, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Doug.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Paquelet Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's memory to the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities School Programs.
