Douglas Kevin Speicher

Douglas (Doug) Speicher,64 passed away Sept.10, 2024 at his home in Gill, Colorado. He was born August 10,1960 to Marjorie (Schroetlin) and Dennis Speicher in Loveland, Colorado. He attended school in Berthoud through graduation in 1978. He married Mary Chappell on October 10, 2014.
Doug grew up on the farm and followed and learned from his dad and grandfathers. He had his own hay stacking business while farming, as well as a trucking business. When his family retired from farming, he went full time into trucking. He was employed by Roggen Elevator many years and was working there at the time of his death. He was very involved in the family draft horse business. He successfully drove the Twinpeak Percherons 6 horse hitch, showing at local, county and national shows. He loved motorcycle rides, snowmobiling, and restoring tractors and caterpillars
He is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter Heather Speicher of Greeley, his mother Marjorie Speicher Perkins (Glen) of Greeley, sister Denise (Steven) Lauerman of Loveland, grandson Landon Walker, granddaughters Naomi and Peyton Schecter, nieces Tanya (Brad) Banulis, Raquel (Nick Trainor) Wertsbaugh, cousins and many friends and acquaintances. Preceding him in death was his father, Dennis Speicher, grandson Jaxson Schecter, grandparents Gordon and Rosie (Owens) Speicher and Richard and Vivian (Fick) Schroetlin, brother-in-law Jim Wertsbaugh, and nephews Casey and Richard Wertsbaugh.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept.19, 2024 at 1:00pm at the First Christian Church, 2000 N Lincoln Ave, Loveland, Co 80538
