Powell Funeral Homes - MarengoWilliamsburg-Douglas “Ugly” Edward Weldon was born July 10, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of James Lowell and Vivian Fern (Orris) Weldon. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. He worked at Williamsburg Manufacturing until his retirement. Doug enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and going to rodeos, but most of all he loved to spend time with his granddaughter. Doug died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Compass Memorial Hospital, at the age of 64 years.
He is survived by the love of his life for over 25 years, Karen Azevedo; his children Patrick (Alexa) Weldon of Iowa City and Danielle Weldon (Brad Huber) of North English; granddaughter Alexandria; four siblings, Pat Yauk, Tim Weldon, Ron Weldon and Jeff Weldon, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peg Weldon and brothers, Daniel, Jim, and Tony Weldon.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 12:00-3:30 pm at the Parnell Hall. Powell Funeral Home in Marengo caring for Doug and his family. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
