Williamsburg-Marvin Herbert Maas was born June 27, 1941, in Williamsburg, Iowa. The son of Herbert Henry and Berniece Caroline Katherine (Hinrichs) Maas. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. He served in the Army Reserves from 1960-1963. Marvin farmed near Homestead and worked for Amana Builders for a number of years. Marvin was united in marriage to Barbara Leek on March 18, 1967. To this union they were blessed with three children, Rick, Tyler and Ann. They later divorced. Marvin later was united in marriage to Sharon Folkmann Doehrmann on August 22, 1992 outside at the Colony Village. Together they lived in Arizona where he worked for United Rentals for 21 years. They returned to Williamsburg in 2014. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends, and doing woodworking.
Marvin died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 84 years.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Rick (Heather) Maas of Grinnell, Tyler (Kim) Maas of Urbandale and Ann (Bill) Reid of Columbus, IN; step children, Ben (Jessica) Doehrmann of Boone, Andy (Tekla) Doehrmann of Chandler, AZ and Tracie (Bill) Watkins of Chandler, AZ; five grandchildren, Brecken, Henry, Caleb, Sailor and Kate; five step grandchildren, Emma, London, William, Morgan and Shelby and a sister, Lois (Lee) Bair of Williamsburg.
He is was preceded in death by his parents, sister and husband Marcella (Allan) Doehrmann.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Lutheran Interparish School, Essence of Life Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
