Dovie Dowdey

Dovie Dowdey, age 90, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. Born on December 2, 1933, to the late James Arthur Daniel and Doshie Rosetta McCullars Daniel, Dovie lived a life marked by love for her family and devotion to her faith as a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Dowdey (Linda); sister, Helen Evans; grandchildren, Steven Dowdey (Tina), Chris Dowdey, and Zach Dowdey (Heather); great-grandchildren, Payton, Parker, Carson, and Jaycee Dowdey; and great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Caitlyn Dowdey. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Margaret Daniel; brother-in-law, Joe Maddox; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dovie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug Dowdey; her son, DeArmond Dowdey; brothers, Weldon, Elton, Felton, Zeak, Dean, and Liff Daniel; and sisters, Ruby Daniel and Priss Maddox.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will be assisted by Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Dovie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
