Doy Harold Green, 83, passed away to his Heavenly Home 03/10/2026 at
Stigler, Ok. He was born November 15th, 1942 to Alonzo Green and Ina Mae Ligon Green. On July 16th, 1961 he married his best friend and love of his life, Lois Mizell. They had 2 daughters; Dana Bailes and Donna Carpenter, and made their home in
Kinta, Ok. Doy attended Quinton Public Schools. He worked 30 plus year a the State of Oklahoma Commodity Warehouse until he retired.
Doy was a man who loved the simple, honest things in life and lived it the way many good Oklahoma men do close to the land, loyal to his people, and happiest outdoors. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a steady presence to those who knew him best.
He loved to fish and was truly one of the best fishermen around. In his younger days, he tied and sold fishing hooks, and anyone who knew him will tell you he tied the finest hooks you'd ever see. It was a skill he took pride in, and one he was proud to pass down by teaching others how to tie them just right.
Doy also had a deep love for hunting. He treasured his bird dogs and the long days spent quail hunting. Squirrel season was another favorite, and even just a few days ago he was still talking about chasing gray squirrels through the trees.
Back in the day, he was known as one of the best pool players around. At Carey's pool hall he could run the table on the younger guys while calling every ball, something that brought him plenty of friendly bragging rights.
As the years went by, his love for the outdoors turned toward gardening. At one point he kept six gardens going and eventually began selling his vegetables at a small stand at Green Acres. Doy believed in people and trusted folks the old-fashioned way. If someone didn't have the money to pay, he figured they probably needed the food more than he needed the cash. That was just the kind of man he was.
He was a loyal friend and someone you could always count on. He loved cheering on Kinta basketball and proudly watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. Those grands were truly the apples of his eye, and he loved them deeply.
When he was relaxing at home, you could often find him watching western movies, Star Trek especially his favorite character Spock-or an episode of The Rockford Files.
Above all, Doy was devoted to his family and to his best friend, Lois. The two shared a bond built on love, loyalty, and a lifetime of memories.
Doy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, laughter, and a deep love for the people and the land around him. His stories, his lessons, and his way of life will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
