Doyle Ray Marvel, 88, of Poseyville, Indiana, born September 7, 1934, to Dorris Monroe and Allegra Ellen (Smith) Marvel in Poseyville, Indiana, passed away, Friday, August 25, 2023 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
He went to Cynthiana High School and farmed all his life until his retirement then worked as a custodian at the North Posey High School. He was a member of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church and attended Fair Haven Christ Fellowship Church. He enjoyed basketball and his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife: Dolores Olivia (Rice) Marvel; sons: Keith E. Marvel (Mary) of Evansville, Indiana and Michael Allyn Marvel (Cynthia) of Owensville, Indiana; daughter: Brenda G. Cornaire (Jim) of Cynthiana, Indiana; 9 grandchildren: Ellen Piechocki (Matthew), Jill Barrett (Brendon), Jamie Keitel (Lee), Ryan Marvel (Kimberly), Jeremy Marvel (Kristy), Brandon Marvel, Kevin Marvel, Amy Brumley (Bob) and Jennifer Marvel; 2 step-grandchildren: Amber and Adam; 12 great grandchildren: Christian, Samuel, Brennan, Braelyn, Brecken, Brycton, Conner, Isaac, Reese, Riley, Tucker and Kellen along with 5 step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son: Ronald Ray Marvel; brothers: Morris Wayne Marvel, Ewell Marvel, Jim Marvel and Tom Marvel; sisters: Evelyn Brittingham, Helen Jane Cleveland and Ruth Bass.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Indiana with burial to follow in Antioch Cemetery near Owensville, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, and from 9 a.m. until service time, Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Fair Haven Christ Fellowship Church, 10500 Highway 68, Cynthiana, Indiana 47612.
