Parnick Jennings Funeral Home & Cremation ServicesDoyle Wayne Proctor age 78 of Cartersville sadly passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his place of residence in Florida. Doyle was born in Cartersville on September 27, 1947. He was the son of the late Lester and Myrtle Proctor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Florence Evelyn Proctor; his sister, Ann Hurley; his younger brother, Melvin Proctor; and both sets of grandparents, Joseph Lelton and Annie Mae (Hammonds) Proctor and Pleasant Hubert and Rosa Thompson McDonald.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Annette Edwards; his son, Calvin Morris Edwards Jr.; brother, James Rodger Proctor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doyle was a wonderful and amazing father. Everyone that knew him well knew he would drop everything to go and help. He loved helping people and never asking for anything in return. Doyle served his country in the United States Army. He was Christian man who loved the Lord and his family. He never met a stranger. He loved people and talking to them about stories about his childhood. He was employed by Chemical Products for many years. Doyle will be missed by all that knew him.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, the funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Collins, Travis Connor, Clyde Couch, Steve Couch, Jody Collins, Derek Couch, and Tim Couch.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Beginnings Church Cartersville Building Fund in memory of Doyle Proctor.
