Dr. F. A. "Bud" Davis, Jr.

Dr. Francis Alston “Bud” Davis, passed away unexpectedly on June 6th, 2023, at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was only 77 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden passing. Dr. Davis was born on October 17, 1945. 

Dr. Davis is survived by his loving sister Elizabeth Ann Davis, and loving children and grandchildren; his son Jared Davis and wife Laurie and their four children: Aidan, Jack Counts, Sawyer Counts and Foster Counts; his son Reagen Davis and wife Natania and their three children: Trystin, Bella and Roan; his son Teran Davis and wife Nicole and their 2 children: Grayson and Natalyn; his daughter Linsy Schroder and husband Jason and their 2 children: Liam and August; and his son Hunter Davis.

Dr. Davis was predeceased by his parents Dr. F.A. Davis Sr., and Johnnie W. Davis as well as his son Kasey Davis.

Dr. Davis was born at De Queen General Hospital in De Queen, Arkansas. He grew up in Shawnee Oklahoma where he graduated from Shawnee High School where he was an avid Baseball player. He later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he was a member of the NCAA baseball team. Post receiving his bachelors, he attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and earned a D.D.S. degree. He later served in the Oklahoma Public Health Service before being commissioned in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. During his time of service, Dr. Davis was responsible for treating craniomandibular disorders at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama. He received an Honorable Discharge as Captain. The last 40+ years he has been in private practice in Bethany, Oklahoma where he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of 1000’s of patients and friends.

Dr. Davis was a fun-spirited soul who took on many passions, including taking his family to OU football games before many of his children and grandchildren could walk. “BOOMER” was ingrained early in his family. When not climbing the ramp of Memorial Stadium, he spent time with family on Grand Lake and hitting the slopes in Colorado. He loved to travel and experience new places and people. When not traveling, he spent time on the sidelines coaching soccer, baseball, and basketball. Where he loved the thrill of competition.

Dr. Davis was a beautiful person inside and out. His presence would light up the whole room. He cared so deeply for his family, friends, and patients. He made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
