Dr. Francis Y. Wu, 87, of Bedford, NH died on April 12, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Born in Shanghai, China on June 25, 1936, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Wu. He received his medical degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1963 and completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Bronx, NY. Afterwards, he moved to Southern California in 1969 (Lakewood, Downey, Cypress) and to Palos Verdes Estates in 1977. He and his wife moved to Bedford, NH in 2015.
Prior to retirement, he was a highly respected physician at Kaiser Permanente in Bellflower, CA since 1970. He was dedicated to his patients, inspired those who worked with him and throughout his career delivered over 10,000 babies.
He enjoyed traveling, doing card tricks, playing the piano, swimming and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He always gave the best advice and stayed true to them by his actions. He taught his grandkids to always be prepared, be attentive to their surroundings and to be humble. There are many other lessons which he passed down that are not included here but live on in his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amy C. M. (Hu) Wu of Bedford, NH, Dr. Rose Ehret (Wu) & her husband Dr. Roger Ehret of Manchester, NH, Dr. Justin Wu & his wife Bernadette Wu of San Diego, CA, and Dr. Andrew Wu & his wife Dr. Karen Wu of Bedford, NH. Francis was very proud of his eight grandchildren, Dr. Zachary Ehret (& fiancée, Alexandra Cushman), Benjamin Ehret, Jacob Ehret, Joshua Ehret, Nathan Wu, Marissa Wu, Olivia Wu, and Evelyn Wu.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
