Philip Allen Anderson, age 78, passed away on November 2, 2025 following a lengthy illness. Phil was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Harley John Anderson and D. Jane Laybourn Anderson. He graduated from Atherton High School in Flint as Valedictorian. He went on to the University of Michigan, where he earned his undergraduate degree, his medical degree and a Phi Beta Kappa key.
After a residency in Family Practice at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, Phil moved to Fayetteville and took a position as the first Clinical Director of SRAHEC, the Southern Regional Area Health Education Center, where he recruited their first class of Family Practice residents.He went on to cofound his own private practice, Fayetteville Family Medical Care. Phil cared deeply for his patients and felt privileged to care for them. After many years in practice he returned to SRAHEC to serve in their Information Technology Department until his retirement.
Phil is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda Schroeder Anderson; their three children, Morgan Luck (Kevin), Karl Anderson, and Marit Tharge (Marcus); grandchildren Luke Nowak, Anya Nowak, Abby Luck, Kader Luck, Karl Fox “Kit” Anderson, and James Philip “J.P.” Anderson. He is also survived by his siblings, Clare Anderson (Carol), Carolyn Eden and Nathalie Bistricky (Kirt).
Throughout his life Phil was devoted to his patients, treasured his friends and loved his family and his Faith. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
