A memorial service for Dr. Robert Henry Herzig, 73, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2025at the Cornerstone Methodist Church, located at 111 Meadowview Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033 with Reverend Dr. Tunde Oladineji officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Cornerstone Methodist Cleburne building fund. Please send donations to P.O. Box 2885, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Dr. Robert Henry Herzig, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on June 10, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Robert dedicated his life to service, community, and family.
Robert's calling as a pastor began at the young age of 18, a testament to his devoted commitment to his faith and his church. Throughout his life, he exemplified selflessness and support, embodying the qualities of a loving father and the best grandfather anyone could wish for. He touched many lives with his soft-spoken nature and unwavering support, instilling values of kindness and compassion in his family and those around him.
He was a man of varied interests, taking great pleasure in music, particularly The Beatles, and indulging in hobbies such as collecting model trains and Hot Wheels. He had a special fondness for Disney, which brought joy to his life and the lives of his family.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elizabeth Herzig.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Herzig; his daughter, Blair Herzig; grandsons, Ransom Dunson and Ryan Herzig; granddaughter, Piper Herzig; brother, Billy Herzig; his sisters, Paula Stateston and Harriette Turner, along with her husband Charlie and a host of family, church members, and friends.
Dr. Robert Henry Herzig's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will always be remembered for the profound impact he made in the lives of many. His family and community mourn his loss while celebrating the remarkable life he led.
