Drucilla Rollins Davis, beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born on September 16, 1943, in Spartanburg, SC, she gracefully lived 81 years filled with love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
A devoted homemaker, Drucilla created a warm and welcoming home where all felt cherished. Her culinary talents were unmatched, and she took immense joy in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her skill as a seamstress was highlighted when she lovingly crafted her daughter's wedding gown, a testament to her creativity and dedication. Throughout her life, she demonstrated remarkable bravery as she faced numerous health challenges with grace and dignity.
Drucilla was the heart of her family, known for her unforgettable Christmas Eve celebrations. She loved the great outdoors, especially camping at Myrtle Beach during the summer, and embarked on countless adventures across the United States and Nova Scotia with her late husband of 63 years, Lindal Davis, along with her brother-in-law, Aaron Davis, and his wife, Sue. She also enjoyed traveling across Texas, where witnessing the bluebonnets in full bloom brought her immense happiness. Her adventurous spirit and sense of humor made her the "cool aunt" who taught her daughter and several nieces how to drive, and she adored spending girl's days swimming and shopping with them.
An ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves, Drucilla attended many games with her beloved sister, Ruth Hardin, and her late brother-in-law, Larry. Her laughter and smile were infectious, and she was a fervent admirer of country music, especially the tunes of Gene Watson.
Drucilla's commitment to community service was evident through her involvement with the Green River Branch of the Henderson County Library and her longstanding membership with TOPS for over 40 years. Family was always her first priority, and she relished playing board and card games surrounded by loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Earl and Hazel Jeanette Padgett Rollins, her devoted husband, Lindal Davis, who departed just 22 days prior, and her brothers, Dexter Rollins and Charles Rollins, as well as her brother-in-law, Larry Hardin.
Drucilla leaves behind a legacy of love as she is survived by her daughter, Melody Levi, and her cherished grandson, Cody Levi, whom he fondly called "Gooma" and with whom she shared countless joyful moments. Her loving sister, Ruth Hardin, brother, Steve Rollins and his wife Annie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of special friends, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
A celebration of Drucilla's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sam Beddingfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the physicians and staff of Four Seasons Hospice for the compassionate care shown to both Drucilla and Lindal.
Drucilla's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
