Duane Dale Mattick, age 86, of Lyle, Minnesota, passed away, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. Duane was born December 5, 1938, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Walter and Lula (Sauer) Mattick. He graduated from Austin High School in 1956 and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. In 1962, he married Nora Shaman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Duane was a longtime employee of Hormel, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, camping, attending races, and spending time with family. Duane will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Nora; children, Dan (Barb) Mattick, Anne (Jim) Lynch, and Ted Mattick; 10 grandchildren, Ben (Raelynn) Mattick, Greg (Sara) Mattick, Josh Mattick, Eddie (Becky) Lynch, Christopher (Brooklynn) Mattick, Matthew (Bella) Mattick, Kayla (Blake) VanBeek, Jamie (Jake) Wagner, Riley (Mariah) Carr, and Reed Carr; 16 great-grandchildren, CJ Touchton, Brooklyn Mattick, Brystal Mattick, Allie Touchton, Addison Mattick, Hudson Mattick, Jaxson Mattick, Owen Mattick, Jett Mattick, Brody Lynch, Paige VanBeek, Charlotte VanBeek, Faith Mattick, Clara Wagner, Cleo Wagner, and Cullen Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lula Mattick; sister, Josephine Iverson; and granddaughter, Elizabeth (Lynch) Touchton.

In accordance with his wishes, Duane donated his body to the Mayo Anatomical Bequest Program. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the St. Ansgar United Methodist Church. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
