Duane Daniel Moore II passed away on January 5, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 74. He was born on August 1, 1950, in McAllen, Texas. Duane spent his youth in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and in central Illinois, graduating from Macon High School in 1968. He attended San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas, and later in life completed his bachelor's degree from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois in 2007. He worked for many years at Capitol Records/EMI Music in Jacksonville, and served as an inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture in Greeley, Colorado after graduating from college until his retirement in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane Daniel Moore and Rebecca Joann Moore (née Tucker). He is survived by his brother, Dennis Dale Moore of Decatur, Illinois; his three children: Derek Dale Moore (wife Karen) of Wolfe City, Texas; Devra Dawn Melchi (husband Kenneth) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Duane Daniel Moore III (wife Yulia) of New York, New York; and his stepdaughter Jennifer Hogan of Jacksonville, Illinois, with whose family he maintained close relationships. His legacy lives on through his six grandchildren: Jennifer Karl, Derek Moore II, Amber Casey, Adele Goodwin, Liam Moore, and Liev Moore; and ten great-grandchildren: Aubrianna Cruz, Taylin Karl, Wyatt Karl, Frances Karl, Memphis Karl, Kaila Schwartz, Daniel Moore, Olivia Moore, Noah Casey, and Seamus Casey.
A memorial service for Duane will be held at First United Methodist Church of Bonham in Bonham, Texas on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2pm.
