Duane Simpson, age 64, of Maplewood, MN, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on December 15, 2025.
Born to Arthur and Dorothy (née Hiller) Simpson in Cloquet, MN, and raised in the Cloquet/Cromwell area. Duane graduated from Cromwell Highschool and attended St. Scholastica University before moving down to Minneapolis, MN. He then began to own and operate many successful businesses in the dry-cleaning industry. After many great years in the business, he decided to move into a new direction and joined SC Johnson and Ecolab, where he spent 15 of his last years with the company.
Duane Simpson was a proud husband and father. He married the love of his life, Angela (née Baldwin) Simpson, in 1989, after which they had three sons, Tyler, Brandon, and Dillon Simpson. He was a fisherman, hunter, motorcycle enthusiast, and a well-traveled man. Duane could be described as a charming and witty person who could start a conversation with anyone. He could light up the darkest of rooms with this bright personality. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band and proud of his heritage. He believed that hard work and dedication paid off. He was someone that anyone could count on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy Simpson; and his brother Arthur Simpson, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Angela Simpson; sons, Tyler, Brandon, and Dillon Simpson; siblings, Paula Kay Kreger, Pamela Winter, Devon (Connie) Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family that will greatly miss Duane.
