Duane's passion for the sea was evident to all who shared in his life. An avid diver and fisherman, this is a place where he found solace and excitement. His love for the marine world was infectious, and he delighted in sharing his underwater adventures with anyone willing to listen. The sea was not just a hobby for Duane; it was part of his soul.
Those who were fortunate enough to enjoy Duane's culinary skills, especially his grilled and cooked seafood, knew that these were moments to be cherished. Duane loved to bring joy to others through his efforts at sea. A true fan of the Bucs, Duane created passion and enthusiasm for the game that created memories for family and friends.
Duane was a family man at heart, and though he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna, and his dear sister, Karen. His spirit of family lives on through his brother, Doug; nieces, Kristen and Jenifer; and the incredible new addition to the family, Juliana. They will carry the torch of Duane's love and legacy forward.
To describe Duane as kind, thoughtful, and courageous, is to capture only a glimpse of the man he was. His courage in the face of cancer was a testament to his strength and his unwavering belief in God's plan. Duane faced his illness as he lived his life, with grace and dignity, never losing sight of the hope and love that defined him.
As we bid farewell to Duane, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with the knowledge that he has found peace in the arms of his Creator. His life journey of joy, service and faith; a journey that has not ended but merely changed course. We take solace in the belief that Duane is now in a place where he can be with family that went before him. Where the waters are calm, the marine life is plentiful, and the love of God is all encompassing.
Duane's memory will be cherished and his presence sorely missed. Yet we rejoice in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. As we reflect on the life of Duane, let us honor him by living as he did with kindness, thoughtfulness and courage.
