Thomas Vallar Obituary

Thomas Henry Vallar, known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, passed away suddenly on the 10th of November 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. Born on September 26, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Tom's warmth and quiet, understanding nature left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered throughout his 72 years.
Tom was a beloved husband and best friend to his wife, Kyle, who together shared a life full of laughter and love. He was the loving son of the late Henry Vallar and Margaret Lemmer Vallar. His sisters, Kathryn Bjerk (Michael) and Jane Lucas (Wade), cherished his humor and kindness, while his sisters-in-law, Lynda Kilmer and Elaine Kilmer, admired his loving nature. Tom was also a doting uncle to his niece, Sarah Steele (Daniel), and a great-uncle to Mackenzie and Ava, who adored their 'Uncle Tom's' playful spirit. Moxie (his cat) will miss him too (along with the kitty snacks).
Tom was a dedicated employee at Huff Carbide tool where he was known for his meticulous work and innovative approach on custom carbide tools which earned him respect across his industry.
Tom had a lifelong love for cats, music (especially Tom Petty) and sports. An avid fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buccaneers, Tom's enthusiasm for his teams was infectious, and many a game day was spent cheering alongside friends and family. His interests extended beyond the sports arena, as music remained a central part of his life. Tom's eclectic taste ranged from classic rock to contemporary hits, and he was always eager to share his latest playlist or discuss a recent concert.
Those who knew Tom would describe him as loving, kind, and funny – a man who brought joy and laughter (with a bit of sarcasm) into the lives of others. His sense of humor was a beacon of light, and his compassion knew no bounds. Tom's ability to make others feel loved and valued was one of his most extraordinary gifts.
Tom was always a fixer. If something was broken, he could figure out how to make it work. He was always available to help family and friends.
As we remember Thomas Henry Vallar, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless memories shared with those he held dear. Though he has left our physical world, his spirit endures in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Tom's passing leaves a void in the lives of many, yet we take comfort in knowing that his was a life well-lived. May we honor his memory by embracing the qualities he exemplified: love, kindness, and a sense of humor that could light up a room. Rest in peace, Tom; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
