Duane B. Streeter

Duane Baur Streeter passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Sunday evening, April 14, 2024 at the age of 92 years. He was born in Vassar on September 1, 1931 the son of the late Frank and Nellie (Titsworth) Streeter. On March 17, 1951 Duane was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shirley Ann Wood and they celebrated 73 years together. Duane was a hardworking and respected husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was a faithful Christian and longtime member of St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church and was employed for 28 years at the Caro Regional Center.
Duane was a proud and loving husband and father, who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and recently became a great-great-grandpa. He always had a story to tell to anyone that would listen and was quick to help family and friends with anything they needed. Duane especially loved living in the country and spending time on the farm with his sons. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and camping.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; children, Vicki (Dale) Heinlein, Tim (Barbara) Streeter and Dave (Lisa) Streeter; grandchildren, Kris Heinlein, Jeremy (Jim) Heinlein, Justin Heinlein, Josh (Michele) Heinlein, Brent Streeter, Brandi (Reginald) Michel, Jaime (Chris Johnson) Stokes, Cody (Lindsey) Kaufmann and Cheyenne (Josh) Hall; great-grandchildren, Kendal (Marcus) Edmondson, Lexie, Kadence, Kinsley Heinlein, Nevaeh, Noell and Noah Michel and Layla Hall; great-great-grandchild, Khalil Edmondson; brother-in-law, Scott (Rob) Wood as well as special friends, Dawn Streeter and Cathy Streeter. Duane was preceded in death by his siblings, Edgar, Norm, Stan, Bill and Aleta.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 W. Huron Ave, in Vassar. The Rev. Matthew R. Arnold officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place at Juniata Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make a memorial contribution may consider St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church.
