Duane "Butch" Struck was born in Montrose, SD on August 24, 1944 to Ben and Marcella Struck. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1962. He married Bonnie Zacharias on February 19, 1965. Butchie grew up on the farm and the love of farming grew right with him. After graduation Butch worked in construction and in 1968 he became a Standard Oil Jobber. For the next thirty years, Butch and Bonnie owned and operated Struck Oil Company. In May 1981, Butch, Bonnie and family moved to the farm where Butch and Bonnie resided. Butch was a past Mayor of Humboldt, a member of the Humboldt Township board, the Humboldt Elevator Board, a Humboldt Threshing Bee Committee member, and a member of the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. Butch loved farming, spending time with family, watching the Vikings and the Twins, and a good game of cards, especially if he was able to get the high bid in a game of pitch. He always looked forward to meeting for morning coffee at Friendly's, his yearly fishing trip, his annual Rapid City Stock show trip with close friends and lunch specials at Buffalo Trading Post. Butch is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Bonnie, daughters: Tammi Miles (Steve), Debbie Raap (Jeff), son: Jesse Struck (friend Robin), Grandchildren: Brad (Kelly), Samantha (Jeff), Brett, Sierra (Aaron), Brittany (Eric), Andrew (Ashlynn), Trey (friend Chloe), Kyla (friend Reis), Nate and Calleigh, Great Grand-Children: Cole, Cassidy, Brody, Ryker, Rayleigh, Ronan, Adlie, Kinzey and Braxton. Siblings: Betty Ordal, Mary Dragseth, Ken (Dianne), Jim, Gene, Sharon (Ken) Katzer, Don, Dennis (Mary), Paul (Nan), Jackie (John) Jarding, Denise (David) Lehnen, Jeff, Brenda (Scott) McCoy, sister-in-law Vickie Struck and sister-in-law Karen Zacharias and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law (Nellie and Herman Zacharias), brother Leon, brothers-in-law Jerry Zacharias and Don Dragseth, and nephews Gary and Jason Zacharias.
