Duane A Thompson

Duane A. Thompson, 83, of Enfield, beloved husband of Barbara (Caton) Thompson, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Hartford Hospital.

Duane was born in Bangor, Maine, on August 16, 1942, the son of the late David and Sula (Grant) Thompson. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era and later continued his service with the Air National Guard for more than ten years. Duane was employed as an aircraft mechanic, a career that reflected his dedication, precision, and strong work ethic.

Outside of his profession, Duane was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. In later years, his greatest joy came from the cherished time he spent with his granddaughters, who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Duane is survived by his daughters, Corinna Thompson and Lori Place, both of Enfield; and his dear granddaughters, Gabriella Ann and Amelia Grace. He also leaves behind his brothers, David and his wife Helen of Maryland, and Arnold of Suffield; his sister, Dawn Richards and her husband Richard of Maine; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Duane's family will receive relatives and friends for calling hours from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will be private.
