Robert Duane Waugh was born on February 17, 1944, in Hugo, Oklahoma, delivered by Dr. Johnson in his office, to Robert and Lillian (Boykin) Waugh. He passed from this life on October 28, 2025, in Moore, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.
Duane graduated from Soper High School in 1962, where he was part of the same class as his future wife, Margreete McFarland. The two were married on September 3, 1967, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and faith.
After graduation, Duane moved to Oklahoma City, where he worked for Wilsey Bennett Company before being drafted into the United States Army in 1965. He received training at Fort Polk and served honorably for two years in Germany during the Vietnam era.
Following his military service, Duane and Marge felt called into ministry, and he became ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1979. Together, they pastored at Moore First Assembly of God for six years. During that time, they welcomed their beloved son, Jared, in May 1985.
Duane later worked for Don's Weed and Pest Control and later at Walmart, where he was well liked and respected by his coworkers and management. He retired in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Waugh, and his parents-in-law, Rev. W.T. and Eugenia McFarland, as well as nephew Bobby Waugh and TJ McFarland.
Duane is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marge; his son, Jared, and wife, Drina, of Moore; granddaughters, Angel and Sofia; brother, Roger, and wife, Debbie, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Linda of Hugo and Burleene, and husband, Ron Mosburg, of Coweta; brother-in-law, Jimmy McFarland, and wife, Debbie, of Choctaw; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Duane will be remembered for his faith, humility, sense of duty, his unwavering love for his family, and his great love for the Lord.
