Dr. Duffy Arthur Morf, 79, of Oxford passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 29, 2023.The family will celebrate his life and legacy with a memorial visitation on Friday, August 04, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.
Duffy was welcomed into this world on December 21, 1943, in Evanston, Illinois as one of three children born to the late Arthur Morf and Louise Meyer Morf.
This kind hearted man faithfully served his country stateside, as a member of the United States Army, during the Vietnam era of military history. Duffy dedicated his life to education and higher learning and ultimately obtained the post graduate degree of doctorate. He used this degree to fuel the fires of his true passion in life, educating young minds as a professor at the University of Mississippi within walls of the Patterson School of Accountancy. Upon his retirement, Duffy obtained the status of Professor Emeritus, a title which is held by the most distinguished of higher educators.
Aside from his successful career in education, he found the time to enjoy life in every facet possible. This sociable man enjoyed entertaining friends and cooking whether he was sharing a meal in his home or hosting friends in the Grove at his tailgate, situated just beside the walk of champions. While he was an avid Ole Miss Football fan, but genuinely enjoyed, casting a line and baiting a hook on a fishing adventure with his sons. On the days he preferred staying at his home, you could find him tending to his well-manicured lawn while simultaneously keeping up with his beloved dogs, Teddy and Jackson. Although Duffy has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones.
He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence; wife, Karen Morf of Oxford; three son: Michael Vidal of Oxford; Eric Vidal of Maryville, Tennessee; Joseph Morf of Willits, California; one daughter, Julie Davis of Oxford; five grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Guastafson of Deerfield, Illinois.
Duffy was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Morf and Louise Meyer Morf; one son, Blane Morf; one sister, Linda Morf.
