Duke Laman Gravitt, 55, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away on October 14, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1969, the son of the late Douglas Gravitt and the late Mary Meadows Gravitt.
Duke led a life characterized by hard work, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.
As a self-employed painter, Duke poured his heart into his work, leaving a vivid mark on the world around him. Friends and family alike fondly remember Duke's spirited energy, which filled every room he entered, making an indelible impression on all who crossed his path.
Duke was a man who embraced life outdoors, finding solace and joy in nature. He loved to fish, and these moments spent by the water were treasures that he greatly cherished, particularly when shared with family. His affection for the outdoors mirrored his love for his children, whom he cared for deeply and dedicated his efforts to ensuring they were well taken care of.
An honest man with a forthright demeanor, Duke was never shy to voice his thoughts. His loyalty and fortitude were hallmarks of his character. A passionate supporter of the Atlanta Falcons, Duke's enthusiasm for the team was palpable, although he often jested about the team's losses. His passion for life and vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all those lucky enough to know him.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-father who helped raise him, Randy Meadows; and his brother, Doug Gravitt.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Gay Simonds Gravitt; his daughters, Brianna (Cody) Lindsey of Douglasville, GA, and Corinna (Ramunas) Marozas of Lithia Springs, GA; sons, Casey Gravitt of Lithia Springs, GA, and Chasen Gravitt of Lithia Springs, GA; sister, Angela Gravitt of Lithia Springs, GA; two grandchildren, Violet and Zarina; two nieces, Mary Gravitt and Tammy Gravitt; and one nephew, Brett Gravitt.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.
Duke will be profoundly missed by all who loved him, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, honesty, and deep familial bonds.
