Colleen Grafton, age 78, was born Cecelia Colleen Terneus in Clarksburg, WV, the third of four children, to Genevieve and Edgar Terneus on April 17, 1947. In 1970, she married Allen D Grafton, the two having met at West Virginia University. Colleen graduated and received her BSN from WVU in 1975. After living in Elkins, WV for 8 years, they moved to Oklahoma City where she worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of roles and ultimately retired from Mercy Health Center after 45 collective years of nursing.
She and Al were blessed with three wonderful sons, Patrick and his wife Nicole and children, Cohen, Anderson, and Elizabeth Jane. Second son, Matthew and his wife Alexandra and children Parker, Camden, Jaime, and Owen Louise. Lastly, came Michael and his wife Kara and children Finley and Lila Kate. Colleen is survived by her brother Patrick and his wife Jinju and his two sons, Isaiah and his wife Christina as well as Adam and his wife Ashley and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents Genevieve & Edgar Terneus as well as an infant sister Mary, her sister Colletta, and brother Edgar William, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Colleen was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and made many valued friendships there, which she cherished and maintained throughout her life. She and Al were married for 55 years and deeply enjoyed traveling, including several trips to Europe, Africa, as well as exploring the United States, which often included visiting their families in West Virginia and Wisconsin.
She loved God, Al Grafton, her family, her stories, traveling, and tradition. She was loved beyond the telling and will be missed by many.
May she rest in peace.
