Dwayne Carroll Logsdon, age 59, a longtime Bonner Springs, Kansas area resident, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, while on a nursing assignment. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 2nd, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Dwayne was born on April 9, 1966, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and was the oldest of two sons born to Carroll & Darlene (Moore) Logsdon. He grew up in the Bonner Springs area and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in the Class of 1984. Dwayne attended the University of Kansas and received his BS in Nursing from Baker University. He owned and operated Healing Touch Wound Care, LLC., and was known for his deep compassion and sincere patient care. Recently, he was attending Liberty Baptist Church and had been baptized by Pastor Bob Adrian. Dwayne loved to socialize and be around his friends; he was always up for a fun time, whether it was riding motorcycles, RZR's, or camping. He also loved to cook and usually made way more than was needed. Dwayne had many dogs over the years that he loved dearly, including "Herc" and "Wesley". In recent years, he developed a long-distance relationship with Mary Ann "YanYan" from the Philippines. In 2023, Dwayne traveled there, and they were married on September 22nd.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Carroll J. Logsdon.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann "YanYan" Logsdon, and her son Joshua, his mother, Darlene Logsdon of the home, his brother Jason Logsdon and wife Vicki of Basehor, KS., his niece Morgan Logsdon and nephew Austin Logsdon, as well as extended family and many, many friends.

Dwayne took care of my husband for nearly a year. He taught me how to operate a wound vacuum machine and to be an expert bandage maker. My late husband , John, and I were very fond of Dwayne and stayed in touch throughout the years. We lost an angel and he will be greatly missed.

Dwayne was at first my mentor. He was a gifted nurse with talents for wound care and healing beyond those of anyone I had ever seen or have since. He became much more than a colleague though, he became a friend. Holiday parties, float trips, drinks, birthday parties, loooooong phone calls. He will be missed early by all of those who knew him.

My most sincere condolences to the family. I have exclusively referred home health patients to Dwayne over the past 15 years of my career as a Podiatrist. Patients adored him and I always entrusted Dwayne to give the highest quality of care. He saved many limbs during his career and he was passionate about wound care. I am heartbroken to hear the news.
