Charles Wilson Logsdon born November 1, 1938 in Barlow, Kentucky, to Lanell and Wilson "Buddy" Logsdon, passed away June 24, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was recently diagnosed with mixed Alzheimer's Disease and slowly the man we knew and loved as our Dad and our Grampy, slipped away before our eyes. He is now whole, healed and in Heaven with his sweetheart, our mom, and our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
He was employed as a Fork Lift Mechanic for W.D. Matthew's and McCains for many years. Later in life he was employed at Comfort Inn in Navarre, Florida, as a front desk clerk and more recently at Kings Inn in Lenoir City. This is where he was able to do what he loved best: make people smile and laugh! Dad never met a stranger and would give his last dollar to someone in need, even against his wife's warning "look" and her famous "Chuck!!", but she knew, as the rest of us did, it would fall on deaf ears! He made many friends throughout his life's journey, leaving lasting memories for many of them.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen (Kay) as well as his parents and brother in laws.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Lori Fleming and husband Ted; Sheri Fleming and husband David; Marc Logsdon and wife Grace; Charleen Logsdon. Grandchildren and spouses: Shannon (Robbie), David Lee (Bridget), Marc Jayson (Lhen), Stephen (Sara), Heather (Dawn), Sabrina (Tina), Abagail (Scottie), and Jared along with 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James Alan, nephew Erik, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dad would want us to mention Jennifer Hucklebee, his friend and travel buddy. He so enjoyed your trips up and down the east coast and the help with driving to Maine. You gave him lots of memories and a lot of laughs!
Dad also shared a special friendship with Jay Patel, his boss for 20+ years. He shared a mutual respect for you and often said you treated him just like a father and for that he and all our family are forever grateful.
A special thank you to Caris healthcare for the compassionate care and dignity you gave our father, just as you did with our mother.
Pleaser consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in honor and memory of dad, to help find a cure for this horrible disease, with the hope that others wont have to walk this same path that we and others may have walked.
"To love a person with Alzheimer's, is to learn the song in their heart, and sing it to them when they have forgotten."
On July 5, 2025 at 11 a.m. a Celebration of Life will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church where he was a member and allowed our savior Jesus Christ into his heart. All our welcome to come and celebrate him.
