Dwight Harrison Brooks, a beloved figure in the community and a wonderful beacon of faith, was born on November 2, 1971, in Commerce, Georgia. He graced this world with his presence until his peaceful passing on December 24, 2024, at his residence in Jefferson, Georgia, surrounded by his cherished loved ones, as he entered into the comforting arms of his Savior.
Dwight dedicated many years of his life to Winder Barrow Speedway, where he became known not just for his work, but for the friendships he forged that would last a lifetime. His devotion to his career was matched by his unwavering faith, embodying the principles of love and compassion as a wonderful Christian example to all who knew him. Dwight's spirit radiated warmth and kindness, drawing people into his life and leaving a lasting impact wherever he went.
He is survived by his loving family: his mother, Christine Brooks; brothers Tommy Brooks and Lee Kemper; and sisters Debbie Combs, Lisa Irvin, Nancy Henson, and Linda Roark. They will forever hold in their hearts the memories and the laughter shared with Dwight, each moment a testament to the cherished bond they shared.
Dwight's legacy extends beyond his immediate family to those whose lives he touched through his gentle spirit and generous heart. He will be deeply missed, along with his father; Harrison Brooks, mother; Geneva Carter and brother; Willie Dean Brooks who proceeded Dwight in death.
His memorial services and visitation will be held at Tyrus Baptist Church, located at 2616 Hwy 15, Jefferson, GA. The visitation will take place on December 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on December 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM. He will be interred at Revival Baptist Church, starting at 2:00 PM on the same day.
Dwight Harrison Brooks leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and love that will resonate in the hearts of many for years to come. His life was a blessing, and his memory will be cherished in the lives of those who loved him dearly.
